Project Management Board held at the University in Novi Sad, 2-3 December 2019

On 2-3 December 2019, the first annual DEMUSIS Project Management Board was held at the University Of Novi Sad, Serbia. The PMB meeting was preceded by the Quality Assurance Group and Project external evaluator meeting.

The opening addresses were delivered by Biljana Radovanović, Vice-rector of the University of Arts in Belgrade, Ljiljana Nestorovska, Dean of the Faculty of Music in Belgrade, Prof. Siniša Bokan, Dean of the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad and Zoran Komadina, Dean of the Faculty of Philology and Arts in Kragujevac. On behalf of the University of Novi Sad, guests were greeted by Dunja Malbaša, Project Management Officer from the Research and Project Management Office.  The speakers referred to the project objectives and acknowledged the project’s contribution to the music curricula development through enhancement the digital competencies, entrepreneurial skills and awareness of social engagement in music students. They emphasized the importance of cooperation between national music HEI, EU and media partners for enhancing national capacities, connection within academic institutions, music professionals and society at large and expressed their pleasure with excellent communication within the project consortium, with “partnership evolving to friendship”.

After brief summary of project progress in 2019 by Ivana Perković, activities and deliverables of WP6 Quality Control and Monitoring were presented, with Vladimir Blagojević introducing the Project Quality Assurance Plan and Annual Review of QAG and Sanela Nikolić and Nynke van Ketel presenting Quality Monitoring Reports on WP1, 2, 7 and 8 deliverables.

Within the presentation of the WP Management, project contact person Ivana Perković offered the overview of the Project Management Plan adopted in May 2019, with clarification of the changes in the Plan, and reports and reporting procedures, particularly the coming Report on the implementation of the project. The changes in the project timeline were explained by Dušanka Jelenković Vidović, privacy issues in using the project website as a communication channel resolved through online talk with Ljuba Brkić, project website administrator and types and information on financial reporting and financial management with Milena Stanišić.

Chair of WP7 – Olivera Gračanin introduced Project Dissemination and Exploitation Plan to the members of PMB, after which representatives of each partner institutions described their dissemination activities so far.

On the second day of the meeting, the core work packages WP1-4 were discussed. Results of the analysis of national study programs and defining the learning outcomes and competencies were disclosed by Ivana Perković, while Sanela Nikolić presented activities and outcomes of study visits to EU partners realized in spring 2019. Following these activities modernization of current study programs was adopted at P1-P3, with details on modernized programs and courses offered by Ivana Perković (P1), Ira Prodanov (P2) and Biljana Mandić (P3). Two new master programmes at P1 – “Applied Research and Innovation in Music” and “Music direction” – planned for accreditation and implementation in 2020 were introduced and described by Ivana Perković and Milena Stanišić respectively.

Plans for 2020 for Staff training and development of teaching resources (WP3) were considered among members from Serbia and EU partner institutions, after review of experience at P4 student entrepreneurial bootcamp Ira Prodanov and Dušanka Jelenković Vidović visited and observed in September. Through discussions on project activities for spring semester 2020, the time of the study visits of P1-P3 teachers to P5-P6, and P4 teachers visit to Serbia for entrepreneurial bootcamp for students and teachers training was arranged.  The concept of the bootcamp to be organized in Serbia was discussed as well, with the general idea to take the model for it following the example and experience of P4.  

In the presentation dedicated to WP4 activities, the overview of implementation of new and modernized courses at P1-P3 was offered by Ivana Perković, Olivera Gračanin and Biljana Mandić respectively, with details on new courses introduced at national HEI from academic year 2019/20. The course of action for implementation of the new study programs at P1 was explained as well.

In the last session, Milena Stanišić and Olivera Gračanin talked about the realization of public procurement of equipment for national HEI partners, from the preparation phase until the repeated tendering procedure for remaining lots that was just finished (WP2 Upgrading the methodology). The expected deadline for completing this WP, with the purchased equipment installed and set up and distance learning platform created at P1-P2, is February 2020.

Steps taken in preparation of LLL courses were explained by Biljana Mandić, Chair of WP5, with the timeline of activities in this WP in 2020 outlined, and accreditation planned for October 2020.

In the wrap-up session conclusions from the meeting were summarized and deadlines for coming actions scheduled.
