The Technical Implementation Report on the DEMUSIS project progress, submitted on 31 August 2020, was assessed positively and approved by the Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency of the European Commission on 4 February 2021. The assessment looks at the partnership's performance as regards the efficient implementation of the project.
In Comments and Recommendations on the Project Implementation Report it is stated that the project's objectives remain “pertinent to needs, problems and issues of higher education in Serbia as well as the intended target groups and beneficiaries.” It is also recognized that most of the project activities are implemented in line with the workplan, while the adjustments made in the various activities are “an indicator of a high sense of adaptability with the aim of maximizing the impact of the project.” Furthermore, it is noted that the majority of the expected results at the project midterm has been delivered, with even a number of activities and results exceeding the initial expectations, among which are: the introduction of 3 new master programs, instead of 1 originally planned; questionnaires for students and professors at all national academic institutions, in order to gather data about participants' attitudes toward digital technologies, music entrepreneurship and cultural awareness of musicians in curricula; and the organization of an entrepreneurial boot camp for students and teachers in Serbia.
Regarding the quality of the project team and its cooperation, it is highlighted that DEMUSIS project “rests upon a pertinent partnership that enables a proper transfer of knowledge from EU partners to Western Balkans HEIs”. The distribution of tasks and responsibilities are recognized as strengthening the quality of the project team and the project. The management structure devised and the working methodologies chosen are marked as well-structured and appropriate.
The resilience of the project partnership in adapting to new situations and external constraints is particularly praised. It is concluded that the partnership’s timely reactions to the challenges and coming up with feasible solution, along with commitment and dedication, play crucial role in the success of DEMUSIS project.
