Work Meeting on defining outcomes and competencies of music students in Serbia 26/06/2019

On June 26th 2019, a work meeting entitled Dialogue with stakeholders: What outcomes do we need to achieve for our students? What competencies do we need to develop? was held at the Svilara Cultural Station in Novi Sad. The meeting, in which all national partners along with other interested stakeholders took part, was organized by the Academy of Arts, University of Novi Sad as part of the WP1 – Preparation and Analysis (activity 1.3).

In the context of the activities in this WP, an overview of proposed curricular changes in study program of national academic partners in the light of the realized study visits to the EU academic partners was presented.

The key issues addressed at the work meeting focused on sharing the perspectives of academic and non-academic partners and stakeholders with the aim of matching the needs and experiences of the music graduates, postgraduates and current employers.

Representatives of regional authorities (Provincial Secretariat for Sports and Youth), professional organizations and enterprises (Association Européenne des Conservatoires, Académies de Musique et Musikhochschulen –AEC, National Broadcasting Corporation Radio Television of Serbia, video game design company Eipix Entertainment, independent music school Music Harmony, female academic choir Collegium Musicum) and three national academic partners (Faculty of Music University of Arts in Belgrade, Academy of Arts University of Novi Sad and Faculty of Philology and Arts University of Kragujevac) contributed to the lively and fruitful discussion on knowledge and skills essential for successful career pathways in the field of music in the 21st century.
